What a fabulous train! I could imagine sitting there, drinking coffee (a Danish pastry perhaps) and just watching the world go by. Bliss.

Sounds amazing - we may follow suite in a year or two 🤞🏼🤞🏼. Just left Stockholm where I visited Svenskettenn on your recommendation and then found we were staying on the same street where Jacob Frank lived, in an amazing district of beautiful apartment blocks. Helsinki next - fascinated to see somewhere absolutely nothing of the language feels familiar

Fab as ever. Thank you! It reminds me of our rail, boat and bus trip around Norway almost 40 years ago. Wandering around Kirkenes at three in the morning with half the town also having a stroll as though it was a summer evening…. The greeny blue of the water in mountain streams…. How *civilized* the trains were….

Dear Jane Brocket: I was watching the tail end of an episode of US Antiques Road Show, and someone had brought a collection of Apple clothing that the Beatles had had made and sold for small window of time. Are you aware? Best, Beth Morel

I'd love to see the Skagen gallery. I had those two beautiful posters (of women walking on a beach with a little black dog) all through university and when I started work. So peaceful, made me so happy!

Just to say I love rugbrød. It's available locally at Burwash Larder just outside Cambridge and baked by Mini Miss Bread in Saffron Walden.

Gothenburg is lovely. Go to see the Fish Church think it’s Feskekerke in Swedish. It’s the fish market, beautiful wooden building and fab food.
