A truly magical piece this morning, such a treat. I've been transported to another world. Thanks so much Jane, your writing is such a joy to wake up to, and greatly appreciated. Many thanks. I shall read ..and reread, enjoying the beautiful images.

Wow - this sounds like a fairy tale Christmas - simple and full of traditions. So lovely to be able to spend it with family and the new baby. Very special.

Happy New Year Jane - you are constantly an inspiration - I was looking at your Quilt-making book for ideas only this morning. Two adult grandsons have requested quilts! I’m going to have such fun planning them and they will be a joy to make.

Love your Sunday morning writing - always interesting subject matter - thank you.

An ethereal read nearly satisfying my longed-for desire to stay in a colorful Swedish cottage in the woods over Christmas or Midsummer. Thank you for artfully, heart fully sharing this holiday magic with us all, Jane.

I am reading this whilst sipping a cup of tea in what is fondly called ‘the Swedish bed’. My parents, a Northumbrian mother and Greek father, met and married in Uppsala in the 70s and I was born there. This bed was their wedding present & it has followed us ever since. It is now with my family near Bath. My sons travelled to Sweden last summer with their Greek Pappou ( grandfather) staying in summer homes with Swedish families and loved it.

(you signed your book on Stained glass for my elder son who was and still is studying architecture, whilst at Persephone’s when you gave a talk).

What a lovely piece! Thank you for sharing your Christmas and travels in Sweden. I only found out about you from reading my email this morning from Persephone Bookstore- they mentioned you and your Substack- as I am a new subscriber I quickly found you and followed you. I am twice blessed! Happy New Year from the White Mountains of northern New Hampshire, USA.

What a lovely post - much needed here in gloomy, grey London. I went to Oslo for a long weekend last year and loved the whole culture, likewise Denmark and Sweden. They really handle winter beautifully. Thank You - and Happy New Year!

This was so lovely to read and makes me want to see even more of Sweden. We were in Copenhagen for New Year and took a day trip over the bridge to Malmo, which was my first visit to Sweden. We really loved it, as well as Copenhagen. Infact I've completely fallen in love with the Nordic countries and hope for many more trips.
