[Theo modelling his hat and exploring a quilt]
Thirty-one years after I knitted the first two of quite a number of Christmas pudding hats, I’ve just knitted one for the newest baby. The Debbie Bliss pattern is still the classic one, although I change the yarn, needles, and sizing. It’s been a while, though, since I knitted holly leaves and it took several episodes of Ripley to get them sorted - just as well it’s such a slow series as it allowed me to concentrate on what my hands were doing.
And that’s it for 2024. Thank you for reading. I always say I have the best readers, and it’s a pleasure to have your company on Sunday mornings. I’ll be back in January with more books, baking, Beatles, sewing, stitching, and sundries.
Happy Sunday, Happy Christmas, and Happy New Year!
Happy Christmas to you and your family. Your essays have been very inspiring and I’m tempted to print them out and bind them for future perusing. I’ve been able to follow in your footsteps for several exhibitions which would have passed me by otherwise, so thank you. I think I may even have spotted you at the Tirzah Garwood.
Love the pudding hat - so nice to knit baby hats as they’re so quick!
Happy Christmas to you and yours too Jane - and a good New Year when it comes.
I love your eclectic tastes and have appreciated your dedicated research and writing about all sorts of fascinating things. It’s a real treat to open up your newsletter on a Sunday morning. Thanks again! 🎄
